Race day info

Congratulations on being a part of the Urban Stampede! The corporate run will start at 7 AM and the non-corporate run will start at 10 AM.

Here's some important info for race day (for the corporate run):

1.      Getting there

You could either travel on the bus with us or get there yourself. If you have already registered for the bus, please note that the departure time for the bus is at 5:00 AM. Please be there by 4.45 AM.

The bus will leave from Cubbon Park, opposite Jewels De Paragon, which is on one end of M.G. Road (the non-Trinity Circle end). Transport costs are Rs. 200 per person (irrespective of age) and it includes both the onward and return journeys. Travel costs will be collected in cash on the way there, so remember to carry cash with you!

If you are getting there yourself, here are the directions to Olde Bangalore resort:

  • From Mekhri Circle, head North on NH-7 (The Bangalore – Hyderabad Highway) towards the Bangalore’s International Airport
  • On your way you will cross Hebbal flyover, Jakkur (on your right), Yelahanka Air Force Base (on your left) and arrive at the ITC Factory (on your left)
  • At the ITC Factory (which is exactly 19 km from the Hebbal flyover), take a left turn (you will see a black and yellow board for Olde Bangalore at the turning)
  • Continue on that road for 2.6 km and you will find Olde Bangalore on your left
  • It should take not more than 1 hour to reach Olde Bangalore from M.G road

2.     Registration first!

Once you get there, please check in with your entire team at the registration desk. All runners will need to bring the company tags or ID cards for verification. You cannot register without your company ID. There will be 2 registration counters for you to check in. Make sure you are there at least 30 minutes before the start time of the run.

IMPORTANT - All the team members need to be present at the counter to register. Please complete this by 6:30 AM.

3.     Baggage counter

Once you and your team have registered, please change into your running gear at the toilets or the changing rooms and check in your bags at the baggage counter. A sticker that contains your bib number will track the bags. You can pick it up after the race by displaying the bib. Please remember to fasten your bib to the FRONT of your t-shirt with the safety pins provided, before you check in your bags. Please complete this by 6:40AM.

4.     Holding Area

Once you have your baggage checked it, you should now have just your running gear on you. At this point please go to the holding area near the stage. This is just before the start of the race. Please enter the holding area by 6:45 AM.

5.     Flag-off

This is the introduction to the event and where important data like details of aid stations, medical support and location of the loos will be shared.

6.     Race

This is the part where you run your heart out! There will specific locations allocated for each team – we call this location the team ‘pit stop’. The baton exchange for each team will happen at the pit stops.  Please note that every team runs exactly the same distance (20 K), irrespective of the location of the pit stop.

During the race we expect the waiting participants to stay out of the running route so that it doesn’t obstruct the runners on the route.

This will be at 7:00 a.m. The first runners from every team will assemble at the starting point. NO OTHER START TIMES ARE ALLOWED.

7.     Brunch

Brunch is available for all runners as part of the race fee. Please use the Brunch coupon attached to this document to eat to your heart’s content. Brunch starts at 8:00 AM continues till 1:00 PM. Extra coupons for you and visitors will be available at the registration counter, at Rs. 300/-, per person.

8.     Prize distribution and medals

The prize distribution for the event will start at 9:00 AM. The categories are:

  1. Open Category
  2. Mixed category
  3. Women’s Category

Prizes will be given only to the runners and not to any substitutes.

All other runners will get their participation medals at the venue.

9.     Certificates

All runners will get certificates, with total team time, by courier AFTER the event. They will be sent as a set to one member of your team.

Phew! Now you just need to go there and RUN! Cos… well… it’s a jungle out there!
